Entering the Fray

When I started this blog, the Rangers were in the process of clinching a 19th straight cupless season.  Since then, they have stormed all the way from the 11th spot in the conference to the 8th and final playoff seed.  Indeed, if the playoffs started tonight, the Rangers wouldn't be losing to the Islanders after 1 period as the Islanders would be playing golf.

Now I can't take credit for the resurgence of the Rangers playoff hopes.  Not yet anyway.  But that will change when I get the smartphone app and the credit card reader attachment.  Until it arrives (I'm waiting until it's available cheaper on groupon), credit will have to go to Rick Nash who returned from injury to score goals in the third period of games.  Torts might want to consider playing him in the first two periods.

Tonight's edition of this rivalry is being held out on The Island which is funny to say considering that Madison Square Garden is also on an island.  It is even more ironic when you consider the fact that Brooklyn, to where the Islanders are moving in a couple of years is also geographically on Long Island but is not considered part of Long Island.

Personally, I think we should welcome the Islanders to their Brooklyn home with a Pot Suck party.  After all, Potvin sucks.  Does he have a sister?
